If you are someone who loves to embark out into the wild and experience everything that nature can offer you, you know that summer can sometimes be a struggle. With warm temperatures during some long stretches of the season, it can be hard to stay cool in summer. But, if you want to experience a dude ranch during the summer months, you find that there are many ways to stay cool in summer at Rankin Ranch. We have plenty of ways to cool down and beat the heat if it’s unusually warm for your ranch vacation. Continue reading for how you can stay cool on Rankin Ranch this summer.
Swimming Pool
Cool down in our swimming pool and still enjoy the views of the countryside. Along the side of the pool, we have a lounging chair set up for you. The large black locust trees that surround the pool provide shade for guests. During the summer, we plan swimming for our children’s program plans. The pool has a shallow end about three feet deep, and the other is deeper by about eight feet. For added fun, we host weekly swim meets, too.
Recreation Room
If you want to get out of the sun, consider spending some time in our recreation room. During the summer, it is air-conditioned. Inside, you will find a pool table, foosball table, board games, puzzles, and cards. If you want to relax, there are sofas and chairs. The recreation room is easy to find and within walking distance of the cabins, corrals, and dining area.
Walker Basin Creek
For those who enjoy spending their summer days hiking, there is much to explore on the Ranch. When it gets warm outside, consider passing by the Walker Basin Creek. This is a terrific way to cool down while hiking. A favorite hike for many guests is the “Gossip Rock.” We are happy to provide a sack lunch for your picnic too.
